REVIEW DLC The Last of Us: Left Behind
Divided into small episodes covering two time periods, DLC is designed to more fully disclose the background of Ellie and her friends, and talk about how the heroine cope alone between the eighth and the ninth chapter of the original game.
Episodes alternate, offering excerpts from the story of life and inexperienced girl tense action when the heroine is already grown up in a difficult situation and is ready to do anything to saveJoel. Developers contrast to show the evolution of the character and draw parallels between the old friend and a new friend who needs help.
Gameplay "young" episodes reminiscent of amusement park:Allie and Riley walk on the deserted shopping center, trying to find working slot machines and ride rusty carousel. Here you will find only the narrative plot with a lot of mental sketches and touching moments. Children try to remain children even in the infected world.Of course, everyone already knew in advance, how this will end, making these episodes in something even more strenuous than moments with matured heroine. Oppressive feeling of "here and now everything happens" does not leave until the very end.
"Adults" episodes - on the contrary - are full of familiar to the original gameplay with stealth action game, collect items and some simple puzzles.Opponents, people are little different from those that we saw earlier. If they find you, you start to get round from different sides, smoke from shelters Molotov cocktails and try to stifle in his arms, as one closely. But with infected more complicated.According to the logic unknown to us, the authors changed their artificial intelligence, so now anatomically blind opponents see you, even when you're standing still, not moving in the dark.
Shelter for the objects for the most part useless, too, so the only option - to shoot their heads off with a pistol.Sounds of gunfire activate scripts and from the air, new enemies, which just is not enough ammunition. However, if you die a few times, then villains will actively to fall out of ammunition in the necessary amount, and then pass a difficult moment will not be easy.
An interesting innovation is the possibility to bring your enemies to each other. You can throw a brick at the enemies of the people, that will attract the attention of contaminated that quickly staged a massacre, after which you will just have to finish off the survivors and to pass on.
Despite the release of new generation consoles, the graphics still look very dignified, delighting the excellent character models and study of locations.Although, of course, blurred brown texture sometimes get in the shot. Also strange decision on the part of AI infected, unclear point is the name of the add-on that has nothing to do with the plot. And the culmination of the history behind the scenes, while waiting for her throughout the three hours that takes the passage of DLC.
VERDICT!Despite these shortcomings,
Left Behind passed in one breath and should please all fans
The Last of UsDreaming to be with their favorite characters a little more.
